Camping!!

So last weekend we went camping to celebrate Mother's Day! Well, I learned a few things on that trip...be prepared to laugh, cry, and be enlightened! Haha, well, maybe just laugh!

So Friday after school, I picked up the siblings and ran home to finish packing and to grab any last minute things we might need! I had to run a few errands before we could get on the road. As we were about to get on the highway, I realized that I had forgotten my medicine, and I cannot function without it, so back home we went! Two hours after we were supposed to leave we were on our way! I was expecting to get there in a little over an hour...haha, yeah it took us a lot longer than that. Possibly because I thought I knew where I was going, or one time Jared thought he knew where we were supposed to go, and we ended up getting lost. Now there were signs, and if we would have just followed them, we would have had no problem, but as soon as we started to doubt them, that was when we got in trouble. So how many times are we going through life, believing we know where we are going, we have God's word (our signs) and yet we doubt them and get lost. Sometimes it is hard getting back on the right track, but there are always more signs pointing us back to God!

We did eventually arrive, had a delicious dinner, put up the tent, blew up the air mattresses (I know that is cheating!), did some fireworks, some star gazing, and then called it a night! The next day we rented a boat and hit the river! It was so much fun!! God's handiwork is absolutely beautiful! Dad let Jacob drive the boat, and needless to say I was a tad bit worried...especially when he would take his eyes off the river! But no worries, we all survived! Next he is going to want to drive the car! We stopped at a island to have lunch, had a lovely encounter with a snake, but that is nothing new!

Don't be surprised, but on the way back to the springs, I drove the boat! We didn't crash and no alligators were killed in the process. At one point though my Dad was standing in front of me blocking my view, and I started to panic...He turned around and gently said, "Becca, I will tell you where to go, trust me." It kind of hit me...there have been many times I have had no idea what God was doing, where He was taking me, why He was letting things happen, and He would gently say, "Becca, Be still and know that I am God. Trust me with all your heart, and I will direct thy path." God is pretty awesome!

Swimming at the Springs was a lot of fun! But FYI it is a little hard to swim with a 6 year old Chinese girl pulling you under! She has trust issues =) That might have to do with us throwing her in! We enjoyed another great dinner, more fireworks, and more stars!

The next morning we woke up at the crack of dawn, so we could head to Crossroads Baptist Church in Daytona Beach. I met the girl who will be going to Guatemala with me this summer! I can't wait to see all that God is going to do. After church we headed to the beach for lunch...So I did put on sunscreen, but I forgot the back of my legs. Camping is exhausting you know, so of course the beach is the perfect place to take a nap....well, yeah after thirty minutes in the sun, the back of my legs were fried! Moral of that story, if you don't put on the WHOLE armor of God, Satan will find His way in, and his fiery darts hurt! I learned my lesson!

In the end we had a great weekend! Family is one of the best things God has given me, and I am so thankful for them! The Diley's sure know how to camp, so feel free to join us next time!
