Oh, the Places You'll Go

This past week I took a road trip to the great states of North Carolina and Ohio to spend Thanksgiving with my family and friends! Altogether I spent 28 hours driving solo over the course of 4 days. Talk about an adventure! There was a lot of singing, crying, praying, thinking, and yes, I hate to admit it, talking to myself along the way.

My time reflecting reminded me of the Dr. Seuss book, "Oh, the Places You'll Go," with a little twist.

1. The beginning of a new journey; I am officially on my own...scary, huh?!?

Congratulations! Today is your day. You're off to Great Places! You're off and away!

2. There are some pretty major decisions to make..
.will I make the right ones?

God gave you brains in your head. And feet in your shoes. He will steer you any direction He chooses. You're not on your own. And you know what you know. And HE is the One who'll decide where to go.

3. Can I handle the hard times or will I give in to the pressure?

Out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you. And then things start to happen, don't worry. Don't stew. Just go right along. See what God can do!

4. There will be days I screw up and everything will seem to be going south.

I'm sorry to say so but, sadly, it's true
that Bang-ups and Hang-ups will happen too.

And when I'm in a Slump, you're not in for much fun.
Un-slumping myself is not easily done.

5. I know I might become confused, uncertain, and tired of being patient
.

I can get so confused when I start the race down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace and grind on for miles cross weirdish wild space, headed, I fear, toward a most useless place. The Waiting Place...

...for people just waiting.
Waiting for work to come and for work to go, or a check to come, or the bills to go,
or the phone to ring, or the "right" guy to show, or the waiting around for a Yes or No,
or waiting for the last semester of college to be threw .
Everyone is just waiting.

6. But I am determined to keep on going!

But on I will go though the weather be foul.
On I will go though the enemy prowls.
On and on I will hike, And I know it'll be far
and face the problems whatever they are.
And I will succeed with my Savior in the Lead!
(100 percent guaranteed.)

GOD CAN MOVE THE MOUNTAINS!

So...
if my name be Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Rebecca Ann Diley
God is leading me to some Great Places!
Today is His day! The mountains are waiting.
So...Father please have your way each and every day!

So yeah, it might be a little cheesy, but what can I say! It's just another reminder to "Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him:"
